National Angora Club Stock Show

Coventry , October 14th 2007

I was lucky enough to be chosen to judge the NAC Adult Stock Show this Autumm.  I had a stunning entry of over 30 Angoras.  I  started with a class of seven Adult Whites, almost unheard of these days.

I had to make some tough decisions on the day and judge with my head, not my heart.  My overall winner was just lovely. An Adult Chocolate doe by Sally May.  This doe had a full coat of amazing length, strong tips still evident, gorgeous texture, nice furnishings , grand colour, lovely cobby body of good size. She really would have taken some beating.  Congratulations to Sally, a great achievement for this rare colour. The second time she has taken this award with a chocolate.

My thanks to fellow exhibitors for their support on the day... it was nerve racking but great fun !

Superb Class of Adult Whites to start the day

Simon and Sally share a joke

Sorting out the Junior entries. Great to see youngsters starting with the breed.. we could do with some more !  Congratulations to Rebecca Couch for a lovely rabbit and beautifully presented.

Young Bethan heads up the whites

Lovely class of Goldens

Winning Gold bred by Christine Hamilton. Beautiful colour and snowball shape.. I really liked this one on the day.

Marten Sables, only just recognised;  "The Hamsters"

Lovely Snowball Chin by Janet Houghton. Lovely shape and furnishings. Just lost out on maturity on the day.

Lovely Sable by Simon and Richard

Stunning Brown Grey by Sue Fisher.  This is the one that broke my heart.  A real favourite and definitely one I would love to own. On the day she had to give way to the chocolate on texture and finish but still a lovely rabbit.

Was a really tough class of coloureds.

I really had to think hard on this one, the top three were all fabulous.

Three coloureds in order.  Chocolate, Brown Grey and Gold.
